2021 Copa de la Reina Final Picture Special

On 30th May I went along to the Copa de la Reina Final at Butarque.

Not only was this a great chance to finally go back to one of my favourite grounds in Madrid after over a year away, it was a chance to see history in the making as Barcelona Femení chased the final leg of a Treble. Having already won Primera Iberdrola and the UEFA Women’s Champions League earlier in the month, only Levante and the Copa stood between them and their goal.

3-0 up at half time through goals from Patri Guijarro, Alexia Putellas and Marta Torrejón (all assisted by Lieke Martens) they looked to be coasting to victory, only for Levante to cut their lead to a single goal midway through the second half before player of the match Alexia put the result beyond doubt.

Here is a selection of my photos from the game.
